I played in 2 different bands but it was only jam sessions no performances other then in front of friends.At school I had some friends who introduced me to Nintendo and game consoles. I had started with Blink 182, The Offspring with power chords and Green Day. I learned a few Quebecois sounds acoustic versions but had given up my distortion and fast playing. I guess I started my youtube chanel then in 2011 and before that, my compliations were all about the club sounds. I picked it back up to play more acoustic versions of songs. But then I wanted to DJ and be a musician like Armin Van Burren so I left the guitar on the side.
Those where the years that I considered myself a good guitarist. My playing reached out to Creed, System of a Down, Metallica, 3 Days Grace, Seether, Breaking Benjamin. It got me to expand to piano, at the time I could only play Clocks from Coldplay. One of the turning points was the arrival of youtube and Canon Rock and also Utada Hikaru I guess.
When I was trying to learn Breath by Faith Hill, I thought I’d be an accomplished artist if I was able to play that. So how can I start? My first songs that I was trying to learn there was Outside from Stained, Lightning Crashes was my first chord song, 3 Doors Down – Kryptonight also one of my first. Cause words are still not practicing, talking and playing are 2 different things. I’m sick of telling my recovery story or illness story so it’s a good change. I’m thinking this is a great opportunity to talk about my guitar history, the exciting moments and landmarks. For a project at workman arts, I’ve got to tell a personal story for less then 5 minutes.
